ABOUT TRAVIS

My lifetime of adventure started as a child, born in the Deep South, where I learned to wrestle reptiles knee-deep in the bayous of Louisiana. I spent my teen years in the Pacific Northwest, racing downhill mountain bikes, running rivers and climbing mountains. And from there, I set my sights on the tropical travel circuit, postponing college to live the island life, working charter boats and teaching scuba diving in Hawaii, the Florida Keys, the Caribbean, and the Red Sea.

Today, I enjoy a laid-back southern lifestyle in beautiful Savannah, GA, where I work as a freelance travel writer for publications like American Photo, Scuba Diving, Away.com, and American Way. I also write hotel profiles for travel booking site Orbitz, and I’ve contributed to Fodor’s guidebooks.
